The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) establishes and specifies uniform test procedures, conditions, equipment and a performance report to permit direct laboratory performance comparison of air filters and induction systems.

Testing to these high standards enables us to accurately measure our products against not only OEM [Original Equipment Manufacturer] equipment, but also to the competition, allowing us to establish the air filter performance benchmark, which we are determined to do.

ISO is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. The specific individual International Standard utilized by S&B and automotive manufacturers establishes and specifies uniform test procedures, conditions, equipment, and a performance report to permit the direct laboratory performance comparison of air cleaners, in this case, those used on internal combustion engines and compressors used in automotive and industrial applications.

The performance characteristics of greatest interest are airflow restriction (differential pressure), dust collection efficiency and dust capacity. The ISO 5011 Standard is what S&B Filters adheres to as we seek innovations and improvements in our product line, and to test our products so they meet the highest standard possible. We feel this is the standard that all performance filter manufacturers should be using to develop their products.

S&B Filters' Warranty Policy

All applicable S&B products are emissions-tested and certified in 50 states and are backed by our warranty policy which is outlined below.

Million Mile Warranty

All S&B OEM replacement air filters and intake kits are covered under the warranty for defective materials or workmanship for one million miles. The million mile warranty is limited to S&B branded OEM replacement filters and intake kits. If for any reason your high performance filter should fail due to workmanship or defective materials, the original consumer who purchased the S&B Air Filter or Intake Kit must simply provide proof of purchase to be eligible for the warranty. In order to maintain the S&B warranty, you must use the S&B Precision Cleaning & Oiling Kit (part # 88-0005 or 88-0007) to service the filter. Furthermore, the filter must be serviced according to the directions included with part numbers 88-0005 or 88-0007.

Warranty Conditions

Product returned for warranty resolution must be accompanied by a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number obtained in advance from an S&B customer service representative. S&B will be the final authority on all warranty decisions.

The original consumer who purchased the S&B product must also provide proof of purchase to be eligible for the warranty. Those S&B products used in any type of racing or for off-road use are not covered by the warranty. S&B products that are modified or that are used on custom applications are also not covered. Products made and/or sold by S&B on a private label basis are also not covered by the warranty.

This warranty shall not apply to any unit which has been improperly stored or installed; subjected to misapplication, improper operating conditions, accidents, or neglect; or which has been improperly repaired or altered or otherwise mistreated by the owner or his agent.

Warranty Coverage

S&B Filters, Inc. (S&B) warrants to the original purchaser that any parts purchased shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. A defect is defined as a condition that would render the product inoperable. This warranty does not cover deterioration of plating, paint or any other coating. S&B's liability is limited to the repair or replacement, at S&B's option, of any warrantable product returned prepaid with a complete service history and proof of purchase to the factory. A valid proof of purchase is a dated bill of sale. Repaired or replaced product will be returned to the customer freight collect. Accepted warranty units which have been replaced become the sole property of S&B. Mileage is not a factor. All S&B products are subject to the provisions stated herein regardless of mileage.

Except as set forth in this warranty, S&B disclaims any implied warranty, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. S&B also disclaims any liability for incidental or consequential damages including but not limited to, repair labor, rental vehicles, hotel costs or any other inconvenience costs. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties or guarantees, either expressed or implied, and shall not extend to any consumer or to any person other than the original purchaser residing within the boundaries of the continental U.S. or Canada.

Warranty does not cover conditions where heat-damage resulted due to overly-rich fueling conditions.

Additional Warranty Conditions & Warnings Specific to S&B Intake Elbows

The warranty period for S&B Intake Elbows is 5-Years. Returns are not accepted once the parts have been installed.

Although tests conducted by an independent third party found that the Intake Elbow (part # 1001) did not rupture until reaching 160 PSI under ambient conditions, S&B does not recommend nor does the warranty cover conditions where the Intake Elbow is exposed to internal pressure in excess of 50 pounds per square inch (PSI). Exposing the Intake Elbow to pressures in excess of 50 PSI could cause the Intake Elbow to leak and/or rupture causing severe damage to your vehicle and/or serious bodily harm including death. Never allow more than 5 PSI to build in an Intake Elbow with your hood raised. Special care should be taken when running a vehicle on a dyno to protect all personnel from flying debris in the event of a rupture of the part.
